First Pregnancy Appointment with the Zebra

I am going to try to add my ultra sound pictures later (I need to scan them)...

I went to my first appointment for my pregnancy today! I feel like it is the first time I have ever been pregnant. I had to go through an orientation class that I thought would be rediculous but come to find out there has been big break throughs in the last 5 years that I obviously did not know too much about.

I really like the Naval hospital, my doctor seems great and the nursing staff was so sweet. As soon as I went in for the ultra sound I told the doctor I have been having HORRIBLE cramping. She asked about my water intake, which believe me I drink tons of it because it is all I am craving! So she said we would take a look at the ultra sound and see if everything was OK. Well a minuet into the ultra sound my doctor broke out in song singning, "Wave your hands in the air.... like you just don't care!" I was lost until she told me that I had a VERY active baby and it looked like the Zebra was dancing. She explained the cramping was from the active movement from the baby bouncing around and pulling on the ligaments. The Zebra kept putting his/her arms up and waving them around like crazy, summer saults, and a lot more was going on in the womb today.

GREAT NEWS TOO! I will be 12 weeks pregnant on Saturday instead of just 11 tomorrow (which is what I thought I was). So they just moved me up by a week! YEAH! What prego does not want to hear they just got a week knocked off of their pregnancy? HIGHLIGHT OF THE APPOINTMENT!

Sad news too.... We were planning on videoing the birth since Dan would be gone, but it is hospital policy not to video or take pics due to the reasoning of it being a "procedure." Dan and I are so sad. I am hoping we get an easy going doctor that either dosn't notice if we try to or is to dumb to realize it. HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL!

I was very proud of myself when they took my blood. I did not puke or pass out. I just sweated through my shirt (good thing it was a dark shirt) and got light headed. The Navy Coreman helping draw blood let me know I was the highlight of his day. GLAD YOU ENJOYED THE SHOW! He was referring to seeing me "almost" pass out and "almost" losing my breakfast. LOVELY!

So my next appointment will be next week! And I should find out what I am having in between my 22nd and 24th week. Not so far away.... WE ARE SO THRILLED!

This made my day today! I'm so happy that I got on and read it. I am so excited for all of you! It puts a big smile on my face to know that you are pregnant. This is such a lucky baby. You and Dan are incredible parents and Zebra will have so much love from bothers and sister. I'm jealous of Zebra already. (I think you should name HER Zebra...or Aberz...or Bearz or Ebarz...or...Jessi B) I'm just putting it out there incase all of the sudden you needed new ideas. LOVE YOU!

How exciting! My baby is only one and I forget how exciting it all is (except, of course, for the the getting fat and throwing up part). It is always so fun to find out the sex, I don't know how some people let it be a surprise?!

So exciting. It's such a feeling of joy and relief when you see that baby moving around for the first time. At my first ultrasound they added two weeks to my date, so opposite experience, but it all goes by fast!
