Court Outcome Today

I don't even know how to start this...
The Judge did not hear either side, he gave a speech on how grateful he was to the military and then said he had decided that three weeks in the summer at Cheryl's (Dan's ex wife) digression would be enough for this year. Then following this year five weeks in the summer at Cheryl's digression would be enough for the following years. He would not talk about other scenarios such as what would happen if Cheryl was deployed to War, or what would happen if Dan also got transferred to Japan.

So OF COURSE we are appealing which we are praying we can do because since Cheryl is in Japan and we are in the states her lawyer may argue that if we want to appeal it we are going to have to wait until Cheryl is back in the states at the end of her duty from Japan in three years.

I am absolutely floored with this whole process and how anyone can think that three to five weeks a year to see their Father is in the best interest of the children. It is as if the Judge is trying to see what is in the best interest of the mother and then deciding upon that factor alone. And just to know that everything will be at Cheryl's digression again is obviously frustrating. We will be appealing in May and then our next court date will be three to five months after that.

Please pray for us!

I seriously wonder what judges are thinking sometimes. I don't get it. They need more time with Dan. We'll pray for something better to happen with the appeal.
