FUNNY FUNNY BRITTON STORY

Lately Britton has been going into the bathroom and making "grunting" noises. Of course I thought that he was going to the bathroom and just having a hard time, but I was not sure because usually when he has a hard time he will come out and tell me there is "hot sauce" in his booty (because he can not get anything out). Well today I was walking down the hallway and I heard the same grunting noises coming from the bathroom, but the door was open so I looked in AND THERE HE WAS, looking at himself in the mirror while flexing his muscles in different poses and making serious faces. I burst out laughing and with out taking his eyes from the mirror he says to me, "Mommy, I have big muscles like Daddy, don't I?" I could not get him to take a picture doing it, but I assure you it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Movie picture PERFECT!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SHILOH (on Monday)

My little Brother, Shiloh, will be 25 on Monday and I just can not believe it. He is our youngest sibling and he is already 25! He is going to be so sad at me for posting this pic (it was taken back in December of 2006, haha), but in this pic I still see the sweet little child I grew up with. He is still so sweet, but in all the other pictures he looks like a model :)!
I think out of all my siblings Shiloh is the one I have the most memories with. He is the one that gave me my crooked nose, but he is also the one that always made me laugh. My mom's favorite story to tell about us was when he was one and I was three and every morning we would wake up and run to each other, wrap our arms around each other and let each other know how much we missed each other. Sweet!
I talked to him this past week and I am so grateful for the brother he is to me. So loving and supportive, and still is able to make me laugh!
Miss you Shi-Guy! I LOVE YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Resolutions and Goals

I feel like 2008 was a GREAT year for me and my family. I married a wonderful man, then survived our first separation as he deployed to Afghanistan. I became a stay at home mommy, I started working out like a crazy person and accomplished many of the goals I set in the gym. I also started Pilate's and love it. AND, just like every girl sets every year.... I lost a few pounds!
So this year I thought I would write down all of my goals and that way if I can not remember them I can just refer to this post.
THE FIRST THING, and to me the MOST exciting, I would love to get pregnant again and add to our little family. I am FOR SURE not looking forward to being pregnant, but I just feel like there are still little ones in heaven that will complete our family.
THE SECOND THING, and just as important as my first thing, I will support Dan in trying to get more custody of Taylor and Ava (the twins). Their mom is currently trying to take them to Japan (and away from Dan) and so we are on our way back to court. KEEP US IN YOUR PRAYERS FOR THIS ONE!
THE THIRD THING, I would like to find something I can do at home to earn some extra income. I really want to take some great summer trips and so some extra income would help with that!
THE FOURTH THING, I really want to go to our family reunion in SLC this summer. I want to be there and I want ALL of our kids there! Plus I miss my family like crazy and the boys miss their cousins and we really need to see them!
THE FIFTH THING, I NEED to befriend someone here. Even though I LOVE IT HERE, I feel a bit lonely because I feel like I am not really close to anyone yet. I know I will never find someone here to replace my mom, sister or my Jessi B., but I need to build a strong connection with someone. So yes, that is one of my resolutions!
THE SIXTH THING, I want to become a soccer coach for one of the boys teams. It may work out that they will be able to be on the same team, and if that is the case THAT WOULD BE PERFECT! I love soccer and I love that the boys are showing interest in it.
LAST, but certainly NOT least, I want to continue doing Pre School with the boys. As my early post mentions IT IS AN AMAZING feeling to see my children growing and learning, and I am so excited to be a part of that. I want to take full advantage of them being out of pre school year round. I feel like I owe them so much time.
So this is the list! I think I can do it all (with God's help of course).
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE AND I HOPE EVERYONE SETS GOALS AND COMPLETES THEM!

A PROUD MOMMY! LET ME BRAG...

OK, I believe I have said this before, but I can not stand when parents go on and on and brag about their kids.... This being said I am now going to brag about Benson and annoy myself, BUT I AM SO PROUD!
As some of you know I am doing Pre School with Benson at home this year. It is the only year I will be able to be home with him before he starts Kindergarten next year (because of me having to work before). So I promised myself that I would do my best and really strive to teach him everything he would need to be able to excel in school.
I started in early November, and even though he already knew a lot, I feel like he has come leaps and bounds. It has been an amazing experience that we have been able to share and I feel so great that my child is REALLY learinging from me. Well, Drum Roll PLEASE.... Even though he knew his ABC's I have really been working with him on learning and recognizing his ABC's as well as the sounds of every letter, which he has! BUT THIS LAST WEEK HE BLEW ME AWAY! He read his first word.... "HAT!" Hat has never sounded so beautiful! He recognized the letters, sounded it out and put it together, and it just flowed out of his mouth! He then went on to sound out and read, "bat, fan, van, nap, cap, bag, wag..." and the list goes on. Now not every word is perfect BUT to me it is!
I am so proud of him and I just feel like he is so brilliant. He is working so hard and loves to learn. He really is an aggresive learner and loves when he learns new things, ideas and concepts. I can not wait to see what he will be doing by the time he goes to school.
On one more "bragging" side note, he also has the concept of counting down and just belted out his numbers to FIFTY this week as well. OH YES, we will be working on counting to 100 this week.
SO FUN!
Thanks for letting me brag about my Brilliant Benson!
