DANIEL CAME HOME MAY 28th

Daniel got home SAFE and SOUND from Afghanistan over a month ago! We have been so busy since then, but we are so happy to have him home.
This was a hard deployment for him, especially because he lost his good friend Rob. he also missed out on six months of Edward's life....
Since he has been home Daniel and Edward have been almost inseparable. Whenever Daniel leaves to work Edward cries a sad little cry, and to show you how close they actually are Edward's first word was "Da-DAD!" Wow, he knows who is daddy is!
The adjustment process is always a bit rough when the troops first come home, both in family life and civilian life, but I think our adjustment process this time has gone VERY smooth. I did freak out on him a couple weeks after he got home... I can't really remember why, but something he did ticked me off. Obviously it is all worked through! He actually has stayed very calm and collected and I think acts more relieved than anything else.
He got HUGE on deployment... Not fat, I MEAN HUGE MUSCLES! He was always muscular before, but YOWZERS! We almost had to buy him all new shirts because his collars would not fit around his neck.
As usual he made tons of new friends on deployment, the men that serve together always come back with more of a brother relationship than anything else. So of course we have had many of his new "brothers" over for dinner and just to hang out. It is always amazing to hear their stories; the good and the bad. It really makes you think, "what do I do to make the world a better place?" These men risk EVERYTHING all for the name of our country. They take such pride in their work, and such strength from each other. They all fall at one point, but their brothers are always there to pick them up.
It is hard to think that he will be back out (possibly) in another 18 months, but I still can say that I feel and know that he is where he needs to be. That him being a Marine is a calling he has in this lifetime. He has worked through VERY had times the last two years of his career and it has FINALLY paid off. He was selected for Gunnery Sergeant and will be promoted in either November or December (this means he will be an E-7), only two more ranks till the top!
Benson and Britton at first had a hard time asking me any question out loud with Daniel around. They would whisper it in my ear... That was the only "out of normal" thing they did, but it finally was resolved after I kept saying "No" to everything and so they figured they should go whisper in Daddy's ear instead!
I do love my husband with all of my heart. I support him as I do the rest of our Military. I love that he loves what he does, and I love that I am the person he gets to come home to!
WELCOME HOME STAFF SERGEANT KING... SOON TO BE GUNNERY SERGEANT KING
Getting ready to roll out on patrol

The Marines only drive the COOLEST of cars (Dan is manning the gun)

ROCK AND ROLL

The HARLEY BIKE he bought while overseas (big discount if you are deployed):

Fun times shaving off his beard before he left to come back home to the states. HE LOOKS HARD CORE!

SERIOUSLY?!?!? Who has muscles in their back like that?

BOO YAH, WHO IS THAT HUNK?!?!?!?
