CODE YELLOW! CODE YELLOW!

I just had my FIRST child lost experience at Target today. OH MY GOODNESS!

Here is the story...

Benson wanted me to get him a Batman DVD and I told him "no." Now Benson is not one for huge fits, but for some reason he just started throwing an all out tantrum. So I decided it was time to leave. We got to the checkout line and as I was paying he got out of the cart. I tried to run after him, but with the cart and Britton he was just faster than I could handle. I could hear him for a while running and throwing his tantrum, but when he got too far ahead of me I decided to go and let a Target employee know that my son was missing.

They Immideatly turned the store into a CODE YELLOW, child lockdown! Now it only took two minuets for an employee to find him and bring him to me and as they did he was still throwing his tantrum about the Batman DVD. Everyone thought that he was bawling histericaly because he lost his mommy, little did they know he was just ticked that his mommy said "no" about his movie. All the way out the store everyone thought it was so sweet that he was so scared to be away from me, they could not understand that what he was screaming was, "I WANT MY BATMAN MOVIE....I WANT MY BATMAN MOVIE!" I think it may have come to everyone else, "I WANT MY BATMAN MOMMY!" Who knows!

When he finally calmed down in the car we had a long talk about running away. He understood completely the reason why and told me he would never do it again. I told him that even though I hate to treat him like he is a baby I am going to have to put his chunky monkey on him for a week (it is a back pack of a monkey with a tail that I can hold on to), he does not like that at all! Well maybe next time he will think twice about running off.

I am GLAD he is safe! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
